Today, Leica’s Applied Business is serving customers in almost any Industrial & Health & Life Science vertical with imaging and measurement solutions for organic and inorganic samples. The value for the customer is created by delivering new insights and discoveries orby providing insights in a more efficient manner. In order to realize our product strategy and digital solutions we are establishing a dedicated function within our Product management which will allow us to get closer to our customers to understand their workflows and needs and translate them into future products.


In this newly created function, the Workflow Manager Health & Clinical Microscopy (m/f/d) will be responsible for further development of customer intimacy in Health & Clinical Microscopy workflows. Through interaction with customers, health & clinical organizations and our sales organizations, the role is expected to capture in-depth insights of customers workflows and translate these insights into a roadmap of innovations that drive the growth of the business. 


The position is part of the Applied Workflow Management team and will report to Director Applied Application/Workflow. Position will be located at our Technology Hub in Heerbrugg, CH with travel.


Your area of responsibility includes:



  • Define and create workflows in the defined segments to support product development, product portfolio, roadmap and requirement definition with deep application/workflow knowledge

  • Responsible for realization of customer workflow in new product developments

  • Support the objective analysis of potential market opportunities. Understand opportunities in defined market segments and translate into application/workflow roadmaps.

  • Execute Voice of Customers activities in coordination with the team to understand and validate customer insights

  • Build strong collaboration networks to tap into application/workflow trends

  • Support identification and development of BU strategy & growth plan

  • Integrate market, customer and application trends into an application/workflow roadmap that drives innovation as well as sustainable differentiation and growth and by this facilitate long-term business results

  • Execute assigned launch activities of workflow products

  • Support campaigns and marketing activities with application/workflow specific content

  • Deliver workflow trainings in coordination with Business Execution and Product Management teams

  • Support strategic sales opportunities with application/workflow support (2nd level) to increase Win Rates and Sales Competency


What we expect from you: 



  • Studies in the areas of Medicine, Biology, Biophysics, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatic, Biomedicine, Medical Engineering, Engineering, Physics and similar

  • Professional experience in one or more fields of biology, biotechnology, Life Science, medicine, biomedicine, pharmacy, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, bioinformatics, human biology, agricultural technology, nutritional sciences, food research in education and application.

  • Ideally 2-3 years of experience as a product manager or workflow manager in the field of Health & Clinical Microscopy

  • First experience with the tools of the marketing of complex capital goods, experience with sales-related tasks and projects

  • Very good analytical and strategic skills

  • Excellent communication and team skills

  • English fluent in word and writing. German is welcome but not mandatory

  • Global Travel of ~30%
