Transportation, Trade, Customs and Compliance Lead
- Responsible for managing the effective clearance of goods when applicable, for ensuring full compliance will all applicable customs & duties regulations and for effectively managing all applicable duties & tax waiving schemes related to distribution and manufacturing business
- Actively monitors external regulatory environment for new developments and policy changes and assess and communicates impact proactively to key internal stakeholders.
- Works closely with EMEA Customs & Trade Compliance Manager supporting the implementation of regional/corporate trade compliance strategy and develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and training as required.
- Determines necessary Customs authorizations in cooperation with government authorities and other external parties such as Chamber of Commerce and/or Embassies and oversees the use of import and export licenses, permits, and authorizations to include data entry, processing, tracking and distribution.
- Establishes reporting and electronic interfaces with Swiss/EU governments and customs agencies, acting as main point of contact for the relevant government authority
- Participates or leads actively projects assigned to the team and ensure to meet deadlines expected by ELC
- Continuously review and support to further optimize the Transportation processes to maintain/improve Speed to Market, sustain and further improve process quality and reduce freight cost aligned with the Supply Chain Focus Targets.
- Support and acts as an internal consultant for an end to end Supply Chain review with the TR Field/Regions including customers to maintain a transparent and standardized transportation process using only a few key INCOTERMS.
Qualifications:
- Familiar with Supply Chain/Transportation requirements within an international FMCG
- Smart Negotiator with external and internal Business Partners like Forwarders/Carriers/Customs/other Authorities and TR organization/global TR Retail Customers/global & regional Supply Chain and Transportation, Regulatory Teams etc
- Sound knowledge of the international transportation business (air/ocean/truck) and their regulations as IATA/IMO/ADR and AEO compliance (Authorized Shipper)
- Extensive knowledge of Swiss and International Customs laws and regulations with solid knowledge of ZE/ZV-regulations and stock-management of a bonded-warehouse plus carrying a preferential status along the system-chain.
- Experienced in conducting internal customs audits
- Development and implementation of a trade compliance business model and management processes
- Experienced in administration of transports & operation through best-in-class ERP IT Systems (SAP SD/MM), WMS
- Good digital and analytical competences with an advanced use level of MS Office Package, as SharePoint, MS Excel (i.e.; build Excel models, use macros, pivot tables, formatting, look-up tables, linking, database design skills), with ability to identify and present root/cause findings and apply into business environment
