To support power and gas traders with data acquisition, storage and management and in their daily activities for up to three months, Alpiq Ltd is looking for a motivated intern who is ready to take on a new challenge.

 

Your Responsibilities

 

This position incorporates following tasks:
 

• Collecting data from various sources (external data provider, websites or other platforms) via APIs or FTP servers.


• Building loaders.


• Solution design and implementation in R.


• Challenging data quality and consistency.


• Create and maintain a local database.

 

Your profile

 

• Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or similar.


• Strong R knowledge.


• Great understanding of APIs and FTP servers.


• SQL database knowledge is a plus.


• Knowledge of Energy/Commodity trading is a benefit.


• Personality: pro-active, communicative and highly organized.


• Language skills: fluent in English, any additional language is an asset.


• Swiss nationality, or citizen of a Member State of the European Union with a valid work permit for Switzerland.
