We are looking for a full time laboratory technician at the Terrestrial Ecology Lab at the University of Bern. If you have some experience working with soil animals, insects and plants, this might be the job for you.

We specifically seek the following main responsibilities: 1) Maintaining cultures of soil animals (e.g. Collembola) and insects

2) Help setting up and running experiments with plants, soil animals and insects

3) Supervise and run laboratory equipment

4) Develop protocols for the laboratory

5) Learn to identify soil animals using microscopy

6) Assist other group members (e.g. Bachelor and master students, PhDs and Post-docs) in their research involving laboratory and field work Desired qualifications: 1) Master's degree or equivalent degrees in biology related discipline

2) Experience with culturing animals

3) Experience with microscopy

4) Basic knowledge of soil animals or insects or plants (experience with Swiss plants will be a plus)
