The Chair for Planning of Landscape and Urban Systems (PLUS) at ETH’s Institute for Spatial and Landscape Development is looking for a student assistant to assist our IT-Team.


Job description


We are offering a position to contribute in the development of spatial decision support systems for urban and landscape planning including our new Raum+ platform, and to join our team of researchers to help maintain and improve our IT-Systems.


We anticipate working with you as soon as possible. The salary is determined by the ETH student assistant rate. We expect an average of 8 working hours per week.


Your profile


Required skills:



  • Experience with JavaScript programming language.

  • Good English language skills.


Desired skills:



  • JavaScript geographic libraries (e.g. OpenLayers).

  • JavaScript data visualization libraries (e.g. d3.js).

  • Knowledge of Python and Django web framework.

  • Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems.

  • Experience with collaborative development platforms (e.g. Github).

  • Experience with Authentication software (e.g. Shibboleth).

  • Experience with DBMSs (e.g. PostgreSQL - PostGIS).

  • Experience managing Windows and Linux operating systems.


Working as a student assistant is only permitted for the duration of study and can only be carried out by students immatriculated at ETH Zurich or other universities.
