We are looking for a committed and passionate Global Power Electronics & Lead Engineering Manager, with expertise in railway propulsion and power electronics. In this challenging role, you will manage a motivated team of power electronics specialists and lead engineers for ABB’s growing business of propulsion system projects for rolling stock. Your team, in close collaboration with local engineering departments around the globe, has the full technical responsibility for the successful engineering of rolling stock propulsion systems. Your responsibilities

• Lead and coach the team in technical and non-technical aspects


• Support team members regarding technical questions, processes, tools and templates


• Ensure adequate staffing and introduction of new members to the team


• Secure continuous improvement of the team’s performance (deadlines, cost, quality)


• Develop and maintain the relevant products and processes


• Establish and maintain close collaboration to other engineering teams (locally and globally), product management, project management and supply chain management


• Support product management during concept and tender phases

Your background

• Master or PhD in electrical engineering


• At least 5 years work experience in traction engineering or R&D area


• At least 3 years leadership experience


• Technical project management experience


• Strong level of self-motivation and structured approach to work


• Team lead and team player with excellent communication skills


• Desire to work within an international team environment


• Excellent command of English and German, both written and spoken
