In order to strengthen our Pensions/Retirement Services Team in Zurich we are looking for a:

EXPERIENCED PENSIONS ACTUARY AND CONSULTANT (M/F)

Your Tasks:

• The majority of the role will involve acting as lead consultant on recurring actuarial engagements (IFRS and US GAAP accounting valuations) as well as one off projects (plan re-design, ALMs, M&A, etc.).


• A significant minority of the role (estimated 20%) will involve partnering with team leader to drive initiatives around operational effectiveness, business development, team finances, process improvements etc.


• In your consulting role you will act as day-to-day client contact, supervise and review the work of more junior analysts and coordinate resources in Mercer’s overseas teams.

Your Profile:

• Degree in math’s, actuarial science, statistics, economics, finance or related field


• 10+ years of pensions actuarial consulting experience


• Professional actuarial qualification


• Very strong experience with IFRS (IAS 19) and US GAAP (ASC 715)


• Proven ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients


• Ability to prioritize and tasks with conflicting deadlines


• Experience in sales (both in winning new clients, and expanding services to existing clients)


• A willingness to learn new skills and be adaptable in a changing environment


• Superior analytical ability


• Strong presentation skills


• Business fluent English and German


• In depth knowledge of Swiss pension system is an advantage, but for the right candidate this could be learned on the job.


• Experience within a Big4 firm is an advantage


• Very experienced in acting as a trusted advisor to clients


• Strong work ethic, commercial focus, professional presentation, high ethical standards
