Job Description


This role is responsible for providing the conduit between the business units (site / hub operations), Global process stewards and Global support functions.


The incumbent will direct the review, design, development and implementation of world class supply chain management solutions, to a consistent level, across the business. This will be in line with our Global Operating Model (GOM) objectives for Supply and Demand Planning.


Project Management skills are required for this specific role. The junior SME can lean on specific knowledge from the other SMEs where relevant.


The role will operate through a network of Super Users and business unit managers across multiple functions and sites, identifying business process and system improvement opportunities, working with the Process stewards to design and develop best practice process and systems solutions. The junior SME will then work cross-functional on the project to the implementation and adoption of these standard operating procedures using productive communication and effective change management tools.


The role is highly specialized and requires the post holder to work on their own initiative to drive harmonization and standardization through standard ways of working ensuring the organization meets its compliance objectives through effective process measurement and control. This is expected to be achieved through effective coaching, mentoring, thought leadership and training of the operational teams whilst ensuring close collaboration with senior business stakeholders and sponsors


Our Supply Chain team ensures inventory is consistently available to meet customer demand. We coordinate all aspects of supply through supply planning, sourcing, making, inventory management, packaging and delivery. We partner across the Marketing, Finance and Manufacturing organizations to build a robust demand and supply plan and ensure we get products to the right customer, at the place, at the right time. 


Primary activities include, but are not limited to:



  • Assessment of business needs

    • Consults with business units to determine business, functional and technical requirements and solutions, making effective use of our systems, to drive efficient supply chain planning processes.

    • Provide guidance to secure better leverage from processes and systems to deliver greater business benefit

    • Organise / Attend design workshops to define future process / systems

    • Sign off statement of requirements / functional specifications / new business processes


  • Project and change management to deliver new ways of working – process or system – to agreed time and budget

    • Work closely with business units and other senior stakeholders to understand interdependencies between projects impacting the business unit so that robust achievable Project plans can be agreed

    • Undertake change readiness assessments to ensure business unit personnel are ready for  change

    • Lead cross functional teams, coordinate and integrate the functional/tactical project management activities in close collaboration with Supply chain, business units, CoE and other stakeholders .

    • Identify and manage key stakeholders ensuring effective communications plans are in place


  • Implementation of standard operating Procedures (SOP’s), work instructions that promote industry best practice

    • Develop training programs to ensure the stakeholder groups  are up to date with the latest compliance requirements and initiatives

    • Schedule and manage the training process

    • Deliver training and capture user feedback

    • Sign off training as complete and hand over to the business

    • Monitor the Operating principles and standard ways of working


  • Support and continuous improvement

    • Provide on-going specialist planned and ad-hoc support to users and Superusers within the business ensuring consistency of approach and continuous improvement

    • Support the delivery of the GOM objectives for Supply chain planning optimizing service, inventory, quality and IQV.


  • Motivate and communicate

    • Act as an ambassador for good practice within the organization measuring process adherence and working with users to share good practice and motivating them in achieving process improvement



Qualification:


Minimum Requirements



  • Degree level or equivalent qualification preferably in a Supply Chain management or Engineering based discipline

  • Lean or 6 sigma qualification or equivalent

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a complex supply chain environment within FMCG, food or pharmaceutical

  • Working level knowledge of Supply chain SAP and other best of breed supply planning systems

  • Project management experience and familiarity with project management tools and techniques. Ability to lead cross functional teams

  • Change management experience essential

  • Fluent in English
