Job Responsibilities


 


Role overview:



  • Driving the digital transformation of the Commercial, Marketing and Medical affairs functions worldwide by promoting an innovative and effective use of digital technologies.

  • Building, maintaining and operating reliably and cost-effectively the corresponding information systems.
    performance.

  • The success of this position in implementing the proper systems and in maximizing their use, has a direct impact on Idorsia effectiveness in promoting its drugs and consequently a direct impact on company overall


 


Business Scope:



  • Drive digitalization of the customer experience for Idorsia globally through the selection and delivery of digital solutions focused on customer engagement, customer insights and customer education. The person in that role will partner with the global commercial and medical affairs organization to develop digitalization of the corresponding business areas.

  • Ensure that systems and technology enable the business, deliver information for decision making, or connect employees in the countries with health care professionals

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with national and international regulations.


 


Key responsibilities:



  • Strategic planning and rollout of the information systems and related processes in full alignment with commercial and medical affairs roadmap for Idorsia’s product launches and promotion.

  • Advising business leaders on the implications of IT-enabled change and working with them to mitigate business risk and deliver a positive user experience.

  • Design and development of the information systems organization supporting commercial, marketing and medical processes globally.

  • Global accountability for delivery of digital projects within the scope of responsibilities

  • Accountable for line managing staff of up to 15 internal HCs within 4 years plus external staff, supporting business processes and systems within the scope of responsibilities. 

  • Monitors and accounts for IT expenditure of 20-25 mio CHF over 4 years. Makes early identification of where costs may exceed planned budget and provides timely reports, ensuring that all IT financial targets in the area of responsibility can be met.


 


Candidate's Requirements


 


Education:



  • Master’s degree in business/IT or equivalent industry experience


 


Job experience:



  • 10 or more years of professional experience with preferably 5 years in the commercial area of pharmaceuticals industry

  • 5 years of experience in IT management including budgeting, people management and technical development


 


Skills (functional/technical):



  • Technical leadership and strategic planning:

    • Entrepreneurial and strategic thinking to progress commercial priorities through effective and innovative use of technology for both internal (e.g. marketing, sales, medical affairs) and external (e.g. healthcare professionals, patients) stakeholders.

    • Ability to create and align the right Commercial systems vision, strategy and roadmap with the business objectives.

    • Ability to deliver world class IT services including system availability/stability, mean time to resolve performance and outstanding user experience with technology and IT teams.

    • Lean thinking capable to drive process simplicity throughout the organization by leveraging technology solutions.

    • Versed in the pharmaceutical industry practices and regulations and its applicability to IT.


  • Relationship and people management skills:

    • Able to network and leverage strong internal and external resources and expertise to understand business challenges and opportunities and deliver relevant IT solutions.

    • Demonstrate strong stakeholder’s management skills, including interaction with the global Commercial senior management team and affiliates general managers

    • Strong people, team leadership and management skills with evidence of creating high performing teams and delivering operational excellence.

    • Experience leading cross-functional and multicultural team in a global environment.
