We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our Private Banking team, working together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.


 


Product Specialist to support our Global Custody service offering for UHNW clients that require Quasi Institutional Global Custody Services. The person will be involved in a dynamic - Project & Product Delivery team within the Private Bank Investment Group. This person will also be involved in wider custody related projects such as collaboration with HSS, Prime Services and N2MI (Network Management).



  • The Main task will be to ensure Global Custody Middle Office support to the clients and/or RM in the day to day business in terms of client queries relating to payments, corporate actions, reports, trade settlements and any other GC related questions the client has

  • Supporting RMs/ICs when needed to enter Trades/Payments into Avaloq

  • This will consist in the control of instructions submitted to HSS, avoiding mismatch in transactions or delays in payments, solving issues/questions raised by the client (i.e. new markets opening, corp actions, problem with the system, delays in transactions… and ensuring coordination within all other departments and HSS. 

  • For all prospect and new clients:

    • Provide support and project coordination to relationship managers and GPC specialists for prospect clients

    • Assist relationship managers, GPC specialists and Credit Advisory team in finding the most appropriate set-up for each client

    • Ensure intra-group coordination with HSS, GBM and other Private Bank entities for new and existing Global Custody clients

    • Manage the entire client on-boarding process to the group global platform

    • When directed by Global GC team or when asked by PBRS Front Office, to support Front Office on understanding the GC  proposition,

    • If needed go to client pitches, to support front office to explain GC proposition to clients and attending RM/Desk head meetings when possible. GC PS to also provide PBRs Font office with any local marketing material. GC PS to support when needed in creating and approving marketing material for GC.




  • Ensure back-up for GPB Project & Product Delivery team

  • IT testing and support that is specific to the Global Custody product offering – including Global Aggregated Reporting and Prime Services

  • Acting as a local SME when it comes to the Prime Services product

  • Supporting the GC team in terms of custody related regulation such as CSDR and SRDII  as well as Booking Centre Custody projects


In this role, you will: 


 



  • Global Custody middle office support, being the contact point for the client or RM for any operational issues or questions

  • Marketing support role for prospect clients, ensure proper support to relationship managers and GPC specialists in preparing all marketing presentations, documents and fee schedule proposition for each prospect client

  • Coordination role, ensure project management with coordination between the different involved departments of PBRS or other GBP entities and HSS in implementing  the specific Global Custody set-up for each client

  • On boarding of new clients, manage the client’s on-boarding form the beginning of the process, till the final sign-off from HSS, of the successful on-boarding of the client. These include preparation of specific on-boarding package for each client and follow up on all legal documents to be signed.

  • Support to PBIG Project & Product Delivery team, ensure back up functions for the team and assist them on their day to day tasks

  • Managing governance related to Global Custody in PBRS including local product governance documents/submissions, creating and updating product manuals

  • Working with the Global GC Team on a regular basis and when needed working with other booking centres to support on product queries

  • To take the local project lead in the upcoming GAR project from an implementation and testing perspective (as detailed in GC IT changes requirement)

  • To support Global GC team when it comes to managing the implementation of Prime services related enhancements to AVALOQ and other PBRS systems (similar to GC IT Changes). (as detailed in GC IT changes requirement GC PS to support in completing any local governance documents for Prime services (as detailed in GC Governance requirement)

  • To support PBRS Front Office and Prime Specialist in GM when it comes to on-boarding any new Prime Services client. This will include working with GM KYC/CDD team, RM, Doco and client to ensure the on-boarding goes smoothly

  • To support PBRS Front Office when it comes to providing further information and marketing material for Prime Services proposition.

  • To support Global GC Team and work with PBRS CCO and HOST team to transition assets from third party/Direct HSBC agents to HSBC Global custody team. This includes any analysis work which may need to be conducted ahead of assets being transitioned

  • To support Global GC team when it comes to implementation of any custody regulations which apply to PBRS such as CSDR, SRDII and Sanctions regulations


Major Challenges



  • Demanding role – working in an environment of significant ambiguity - with pressures to generate work product of acceptable quality within challenging timeframes.

  • Rapidly changing nature of economic and regulatory environment

  • Demand to meet Regulatory requirements/standards – often within short timescales. Many late complex requirements are coming from the regulators, the industry, Group, etc.

  • The jobholder must be able to communicate efficiently in the technical as well as non-technical, business world, and relate to the needs of both


Management of Risk


 



  • Maintain awareness of operational risk and minimize the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with section B.1.2 of the Group Operations FIM. 

 

Qualifications

 

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:



  • Good experience within the banking sector (knowledge of financial asset classes), ideally in asset management or back office at least 3

  • Experience of project management and/or business management

  • Contact with clients and front office people and in selling products

  • Knowledge of Custody and Global Custody is key

  • University degree and/or equivalent professional certification (CFA, CIIA- CEFA or CAIA)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Sense of detail and organised way of working; Meticulous

  • Motivation, dedication, flexibility, confidence

  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks

  • Maintaining a high level of service

  • Demonstrated ability to foresee potential risks 

  • Professional working attitude and service-oriented thinking

  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Fluent in French and/or English. Arabic would be a plus.
