The Digital department is responsible for all Front solutions and Channels targeting banks end clients and financial intermediaries.
For this position, we are looking for a highly motivated senior software engineer for our web teams with financial industry and solid technology know-how.
As a member of the Digital department, you will work as part of the Technical Team on the Web Banking application (Avaloq Front Platform). You will closely work together with the Web Banking Architect in solving technical issues on the front platform and contribute significantly to the transition of the current solution (JEE monolith) to a modern microservices and container-based application.
You have the opportunity to be a key member of the Web Banking technical team contributing to and helping other Web Banking teams on interesting technical topics.
Your mission
You are responsible for the implementation of the core technical components and solving technical challenges within the Web Banking application
You assist the Web Banking Architect in proving/evaluating new technologies by contributing to proof-of-concept and pilot implementation
You support the developers on the technical topics / new technologies as necessary
You ensure code quality through extensive code reviews.
You contribute to the migration towards a microservice based architecture for both existing and new functionality
What you need
Experienced software engineer and/or lead developer
Successful track record as a software developer and lead engineer with in-depth knowledge and experience with Java / JEE / Spring Boot
Solid understanding and/or any working experience on designing and/or developing applications based on microservices using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Apache Kafka and Red Hat Open Shift is an advantage
Strong analytical and conceptual skills and is open to learning new technologies and platforms
Good team player and excellent command on spoken and written English

Experience in the banking industry, ideally in Web-/Mobile Banking
German language skills
International working experience
