Position Summary

 


As a Specialist Data Science & Management, you will execute projects/activities related to the management of data produced by High Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HRMS) systems combined with external databases aimed at facilitating data/results interpretation and ultimately decision-making process. You will maintain deep knowledge in data management systems/interfaces as tools in helping the interpretation and processing of analyses of low molecular weight molecules, mainly chemical contaminants. You will develop a good understanding of the challenges related to the analysis of small molecules at trace levels. Interact with people in the laboratory as well as data management people in the Department.

A day in the life of a Data Scientist

 



  • Define, lead one or more project(s)/activities with multiple Nestlé Research and external stakeholders in the frame of data management for handling of HRMS data/results

  • Propose scientific approaches and work plan in project activities, consolidate at team level

  • Build and document knowledge about latest advances in the field of IT tools for management of data in HRMS

  • Knowledge in and understanding of analytical chemistry, particularly HRMS

  • Develop, propose new methodologies & applications linked to business needs related to the control of chemical contaminants

  • Execute accepted project plans by delivering time bound solid reliable scientific data

  • Recommend, plan and deliver technical and scientific support for projects related to the management of a broad range of chemicals, included those to discover

  • Proactively lead and manage knowledge building and business related project activities


What will make you successful

 



  • Master degree or PhD in Mathematics/Statistics or IT sciences with strong experience in data management (-omics expertise strongly valued) 

  • Knowledge and competencies in IT tools, programming and data science highly recommended (SAS, R, python, Machine learning, SQL)

  • Previous experience working in R&D teams/cross functional team/leading teams

  • Good level of English (spoken, read)

  • Strong written and oral communication skills (including presentations)
