Account Manager Drug Discovery (m/f/d), Switzerland home based

JOB DESCRIPTION

In this position the Account Manager will be responsible for direct sales in whole Switzerland for Molecular Devices imaging system portfolio and will manage a specific sales territory and clients within budget constraints to achieve highest possible return on sales costs spent, achieving regional sales target that contributes to the overall corporate sales and strategic objectives.
The positions is home based with travel.

Key Responsibilities
Direct Territory Deliverables 
• Achieve annual and monthly quota in designated territory
• Provide prompt and accurate forecasts as requested
• Participate to programmed funnel reviews and marketing reviews when requested
• Provide all reports when requested by manager within set timescales/deadlines
• Develop and maintain accurate Territory Plan
• To identify, qualify, develop, support and close sales of the Molecular Devices system portfolio (Cellular Imaging,  FLIPR, associated software, reagents, consumables and  services, as well as new drug discovery platforms as identified)
• Develop the prospect database (SFCD) and existing customer list and monitor sales growth
• Achieve assigned sales targets while remaining within the established expense budget and providing customer satisfaction
• Close liaison with the rest of the team to ensure seamless customer support from initial interest to post-sales support
• Maintain a high level of technical and application competence of Molecular Devices products
• Monitor competitor’s activities, products, and potential new or improved applications or product extensions
• Evaluate effectiveness of Molecular Devices’ marketing programs
• Provide monthly revenue and product forecasting, quarterly plans of action, status, and expense reports
• Attend trade shows, seminars and workshops as well as maintaining customer contacts to develop and improve sales skills

Education
Bachelor degree or higher, preferably in biotechnology, life science technology with a (molecular/cellular) biology background or equivalent.

Experience
• At least 3 years sales experience in selling high end capital equipment (100k€ - 500k€) in relevant field. Must be able to demonstrate ability to achieve targets consistently
• Demonstrable success in direct sales of capital equipment to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic and government research laboratory customers
• Detailed knowledge and contacts in Pharma and Biotech

Skills
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in areas of negotiation, persuasion, research & problem solving


• Fluent language skills in German and English
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office, basic graphics software and database management software required
• Be highly motivated with demonstrative interpersonal, presentation and organisational skills
• Be energetic, enthusiastic and hungry for success
• The ability to work with a high degree of independence, self-starters
• Ability to work together in a constructive way with peers, subordinates and seniors in anticipating and resolving issues

Personal attributes
• Clean driving license
• Able to regularly travel and work away from home nationally and occasionally internationally.
