This is an outstanding opportunity to join our Group Compliance Team in a management role that will ensure delivery on our strategic objectives of enabling, advising and assessing our key stakeholders in managing their compliance responsibilities around Data, Ethics & Governance. This role will provide leadership to a sub-team of the Group Compliance Centre of Excellence (CoE) at our Head Office in Zurich. You will work closely with the CoE team to provide leadership as well as expertise and technical skills covering a wide range of compliance risks and will be a source of expert knowledge for the Compliance Community to draw from in their dealings with the business. This demanding position will report directly to the Head of Group Compliance CoE and offers the opportunity to define and shape the role as well as execution accountability.

 
Your Role 

As the Head of Data, Ethics & Governance your main responsibilities will involve:

 

  • Continuously enhancing and managing the global suite of Compliance Policies and Guidelines relating to market integrity, information management and corporate governance, including supporting effective embedding within our businesses

  • Continuously raising the bar and enhancing the vision, strategy and operational execution of the Compliance topics Data Protection & Privacy, Dealing in Securities, Antitrust and Competition, Conflicts of Interest, Records Retention, Outsourcing and Governance

  • Building strong and collaborative relationships with Compliance colleagues at Corporate Center as well as the global community on these topics

  • Advising Compliance colleagues and global practice groups in identifying and effectively mitigating compliance risks, maintaining and embedding group policies and guidance, influencing local business policies to ensure relevant compliance requirements are reflected

  • Providing leadership for the Data, Ethics and Governance team within the CoE and ensuring relevant global practice groups are operating effectively

  • Providing expertise on internal controls to mitigate non-compliance with regulatory requirements related to these compliance risks

  • Enabling and supporting Compliance colleagues and global practice groups to provide high quality advice and challenge while supporting the business in managing compliance risks

  • Delivering training and/or targeted communications to meet identified compliance requirement needs regionally and locally

  • Keeping abreast of relevant laws, rules and regulations to ensure the Global Compliance community fully understands the regulators expectations, in order to support the business to respond appropriately

  • Working collaboratively with experts in Group Compliance, Group Legal, Group Risk and Group Audit and advise our Business colleagues to ensure an aligned and efficient approach

Work location is Zürich. 


Your Skills and Experience 

As the Head of Data, Ethics & Governance your skills and qualifications will include:

 

  • 10 years+ relevant experience in a similar Compliance role, likely from a global banking or insurance environment

  • Outstanding Data Protection and Privacy experience, ideally combined with experience as a Data Protection Officer

  • Experience in Corporate Governance, Outsourcing, Corporate Ethics, Antitrust and Competition as well as Dealing in Securities as an additional asset

  • Broad compliance experience and good up-to-date understanding of relevant rules and legislation in a financial international environment

  • Leadership experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to confidently present complex business and regulatory implication to all levels of management as well as Compliance colleagues clearly and concisely

  • Proven analytical skills together with the ability to support decision making processes with sound reasoning

  • Self-starter with the ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team

  • Practical experience of working in a cross-regional context in an international environment

  • Business acumen

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Able to use initiative and apply judgment

  • Excellent problem solving and influencing skills

  • Self-motivation and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
