Abbott Established Pharmaceuticals is looking for an

Senior Specialist Global Business Excellence (OPEX)

to based at the EPD Headquarter in Basel-Allschwil / Switzerland.

In this Role you will provide strategic input to global Business Excellence (BEx) initiatives across Operations. You will provide direction and hands-on support to the Business Excellence resources across EPD on the design and implementation of improvements at regions and sites. You manage all aspects of a project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. You conduct and coordinate analyses to support decision making at the managerial level. Last but not least you will support achieving EPD growth and margin targets by contributing to the definition and executing the Business Excellence strategy.

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Provides inputs to strategic, global business excellence strategies and initiatives across operations


• Provides direction and hands-on support to the Regional & local Business Excellence resources across EPD on the design and implementation of improvements


• Design, communicate, and implement an operational plan for completing large-scale and complex projects from start to finish, on time and within budget.


• Develop the project plan, launch the initiative with minimal support, assures all aspect of the projects are foreseen, anticipates potential operational problems and acts to resolves them.


• Identify, develop, gather, train and motivate the resources to complete the project


• Coordinates cross-functional teams within a matrix structure, to accomplish critical business goals.


• Monitor progress and performance against timelines and provide regular updates to stakeholders.


• This may include preparing designs and work specifications, developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts, and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors.

Minimum Education:

Mathematical, Pharmacy, Business Administration, Operations, Engineer Degree (Bachelor), or comparable education.

Minimum Experience/Training Required:

• Good English skills (oral and writing)


• Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in Operation


• Willingness to travel up to 70% globally


• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within complex organizations and collaborate with a diverse group of stakeholders


• Ability to interpret division strategy and develop programs and projects in support of that strategy which address challenges holistically


• Ability to independently structure and analyze complex situations, ability to understand and go beyond data to draw conclusions


• Root cause problem solving and ability to learn and improve business processes


• Proven communication skills including presentation skills to DVP level
