We are currently looking for a Service Manager Workspace who will be based at our operational HQ in Zurich. In this role, the person will report to the Group Leader Workspace and will be part of the Global IT technology team. The person will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Take over operational leadership for our workspace services with a special focus on the digital IT workplace


• Ensure that the components and systems are standardized, available, stable, secure and ensure compliance with GxP and GDPR regulations and according to SLAs


• Manage and transition towards outsourced services, including: Contract review, regular SLA check, upgrades and maintenance windows; coordinate different resources during projects and manage escalation processes


• Manage service providers, partners and vendors


• Collaboration and development of Microsoft services (O365, Intune, SCCM, Azure, etc.), VMware, Citrix, etc.


• Work closely with our user group representatives and business partners to analyze and understand the business requirements and translate them into reliable and value-creating technical solutions/services


• Work with other IT professionals at Vifor Pharma to set standards and continuously improve technology stack


• Ensure ITIL standards are followed and drive service improvements when necessary


• Manage budgets and were appropriate drive for cost savings


• Coordinate the interfaces between the requesters (internals and/or externals), the technology group, IT or/and the business


• Project activities - Analyse, design, realize and implement IT solutions, including: Devising functional and conceptual design specifications; Component / System modelling; Development; Project – Management activities related to the technical area


• Become part of a truly global IT team

The ideal candidate holds a university degree in computer science or business information technology with the following essentials skills and experience:

• Minimum 8 years Information Technology experience required, with focus on the IT workplace


• Solid Project Management experience


• Considerable experience in implementing, administrating, configuring and operating the Citrix XenApp & XenDesktop environments


• Experience of Infrastructure and Workspace Services (O365, clients, mobile devices, etc.)


• Good understanding of budgets and managing finance


• Proven track record with driving service improvements


• Good communication skills, both written and verbal


• A very good background of Microsoft Products (SCCM, Intune, O365, Azure, Windows OS, Active Directory, etc.)


• Understanding of technical support processes


• Good communication skills


• Fluent level in English (in oral and written communication)

The following skills would be advantageous:

• Maintain strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations


• Knowledge of PMI or other project management method


• ITIL Certified


• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including Computer System Validation (CSV)


• Additional languages
