The Genome Engineering and Measurement Lab (GEML) develops, implements, optimises, and analyses cutting edge genome engineering tools and techniques supporting a wide range of research projects at ETHZ, UZH and the USZ.
We are seeking a Research Assistant (Molecular Biology) to support our operations in preparing and validating resources and reagents for downstream genome engineering workflows. The successful applicant will be responsible for the generation of CRISPR/Cas vectors and libraries, the generation and purification of Cas protein variants, and the validation of reagents through cellular and molecular assays. The research assistant will work together with a group of other technicians, graduate students, and senior scientists to streamline and optimise experimental procedures.
We are part of ETH Zuurich and the Functional Genomics Center of Zurich (FGCZ) and are located in the Institute of Molecular Health Sciences at the ETH Hönggerberg campus. The laboratory works in a fast-moving field, ensuring a thrilling environment. The Research Assistant position is initially for 6 months and extendable based on the success of the projects and evaluation of performance for up to a maximum of three years.
The ideal candidate will be very well organised and able to work efficiently and with precision in a fast paced environment. You are proactive and can work independently but also as a part of a small group. You can use technology to manage and share information.
