Our company has an immediate opening for a Senior Cloud DBA & SQL Developer on the EF International Language Campuses technology team based in our new headquarters in Zurich - what used to be the stock exchange building in Selnau.  

You will work hands-on with 100+ engineers distributed in local and remote development teams to deliver projects and ensure high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

You will manage the SQL Database's infrastructure and performance, and also direct the SQL / Application developers

• Manage and monitor the existing DB/reporting service infrastructure


• Migrate the infrastructure to the new environment


• Manage the high availability implementation (Windows Cluster and SQL server availability group) and troubleshoot


• Backup and recovery process to be in line with EF's RPO and RTO 


• Manage the integrity and security of all the database environment and provide the access


• Perform periodic recovery processes 

By directing the SQL / Application developers, you will 

• Train/guide the development team to adopt best practices


• Help the team to write the complex queries in an optimized way


• Be the evangelist of the database technology in the business group


• Proactively alert the application team about potential performance issues and DB growth


• Guide them in archiving/purging the data

Qualifications

• 4+ years of IT experience with core expertise in SQL server administration, query design and performance tuning


• Proficient in MS SQL Server query tuning


• Experience in developing medium to complex report using the Microsoft SSRS 


• Knowledge in SQL server administration like Backup, restore, create login /users, high availability

           Good to have: 

• Knowledge in PowerShell scripting


• Interest to learn new database skills like MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB (...)


• Knowledge in AWS VPC, EC2, S3, DMS and RDS
