As the Marketing Manager for Professional Hygiene, based in Basel, Switzerland or in Düsseldorf, Germany you will be responsible for the management of complex global projects and programs that have a high impact in the LSI (Lonza Specialty Ingredients) business. You will lead and drive the execution of all marketing operations for Microbial Control Solutions (MCS) for Professional Hygiene business in EIMEA region. You will be responsible for the conversion and implementation of the Global Professional Hygiene strategy to a Regional Professional Hygiene Strategy. This strategy needs to be broken down into clear and actionable campaigns by the role holder, to be jointly delivered with Sales. You will ensure the optimization and performance of marketing in order to guide the business's commercial efforts. You will be responsible for defining and streamlining regional marketing to drive profitable, market share gain.


Key responsibilities:



  • Contribute to the Global Marketing Strategy Development for the Specific Market Field in MCS

  • Execute and communicate the regional marketing strategy and growth plan for Professional Hygiene

  • Drive local product marketing management including, value pricing, product positioning, brand management, the development/execution of launches and lifecycle management

  • Identify local market trends, unmet market needs and conducts market assessments to inform local and global strategies

  • Align with sales leadership, regional sales teams and broader organization to develop campaigns, value propositions and content creation, linked to the Challenger Sales approach 

  • Develop an appropriate channel strategy in coordination with the regional distribution/sales manager, with appropriate marketing plans to ensure business growth through differentiated value propositions

  • Business case creation, evaluation and presentation to appropriate stakeholders for justification of project work

  • Is the commercial owner of regional Innovation Project Management (IPM) projects, ensuring delivery of business cases and commercial inputs

  • Co-ordinate with regional and global regulatory team to communicate strategy for product portfolio

  • Represent the company at relevant trade shows, conferences, and industry functions

  • Support the Business Development function as appropriate and help implement projects as required.


Key requirements:



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field required

  • Significant experience of driving marketing principals and delivering market strategies that generate results

  • Experience in sales or working with sales teams preferred

  • Strategic thinker with excellent commercial skills in order to take ideas from concept to completion

  • Adept at navigating and succeeding in a complex matrix environment

  • Skilled communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams within the business

  • Ability to influence, engage and inspire a global marketing team and other Lonza stakeholders

  • Driver of performance excellence and continuous improvement

  • A thought-partner, not afraid to challenge the status quo

  • Fluent English language skills.
