Job description:
As Senior Technical Manufacturing Manager you will be working within the SC and Operations team in
a cross-functional team including other Operations functions, R&D, Commercial, Regulatory and
Finance.
You will become the “expertise holder” of the manufacturing processes (fermentation and DSP, with a
stronger focus on the second one) on technical stand point in fully commercialized productions with
external suppliers. You will play a critical role as well in production transfers, specifically from pre-
industrial scale to commercial ones.
You will work closely with our R&D to implement the manufacturing processes at our CMOs from labs
scale to industrial/commercial scale. You will play a lead role in OE initiatives on manufacturing
processes at our external suppliers to ensure more efficiency and robustness on our supply network.
An open mindset, easy going approach, fast learning and ability to work in teams cross-functionally
internally and externally, completes your ideal profile with strong project management skills (e.g. six
sigma green belt certificate desired).
Responsibilities:
Become the manufacturing “expertise holder” of our organization from pre-industrial scale to
commercial one
Establish appropriate manufacturing operations systems and processes at CMOs
Be target oriented, supportive and collaborative with all the other Evolva fuctions with strong
focus with R&D
Have a pragmatic “issue solving” approach: see a solution opportunity in every day issue
Implementing OE initiatives on commercial scale with the CMOs with the support and/or the
initial input from our R&D
Ensure production output meets the needs of the business i.e. timely delivery to meet
commercial and quality targets
Develop standardized processes from pre-industrial to commercial scale phase on
manufacturing stand point
Provide structure in SC & Operations project management department
Further develop our network of CMOs, always led by improvements in efficiency and cost
savings
Travel as required to manufacturing sites located mainly in Europe, more occasionally in USA
Ideal Candidate Possesses:
MS degree in Chemical / Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent, with at least 7-8 years of
relevant manufacturing experience and project management
In-depth technical knowledge of biotechnology plant operations in fermentation and DSP
(desired a stronger focus on DSP).
Leadership, structured and customer-oriented skills are essential part of your way to work
Experience in people management and/or leading cross functional project team is required
In-depth technical knowledge of biotechnology plant operations
Extensive knowledge of product manufacturing transfer management (from piloting to
commercial scale)
Broad knowledge of industrialization principles and technical risks during process scale-
up/technical transfer
Experience in six sigma OE mental set up to achieve reliable supply and competitive COGS
Strong organizational and communication skills
Strong business orientation and financial skills
Hands-on mentality: strong team player
Experience in working in international teams
Ability to travel international up to 20%
