Access and Epidemiology Insights Manager

You will provide strategic epidemiology forecast models, data and insights throughout all stages of product development to meet functional, team and individual needs across global, regional and affiliate teams.


You will generate, validate and provide formal sign-off for target patient population forecasts. You will lead alignment discussions of epidemiological data and assumptions across business teams, Roche Pharma regions and affiliates throughout business planning processes and submissions. You will make critical contributions into clinical development programs, the product value strategy, HTA submissions, early scientific evidence, and payer and reimbursement submissions and negotiations; helping ensure Roche and healthcare systems deliver rapid, broad and sustainable access.


You will be responsible for supporting access excellence through the collection, analysis, storing, maintaining and sharing of access-related data, news and information to meet functional, team and individual needs across global, regional and affiliate Access.


You will be accountable for developing and delivering best-in-class knowledge management, best-practice insights sharing and tool development to help ensure that Roche and healthcare systems deliver rapid, broad and sustainable access.


You will directly support the transformation of Access into a project-based, agile organization by expertly managing information needs and requests, developing tools, conducting research and leading select projects in alignment with global, regional and affiliate Access and other functions, the Access Amplifier and its strategic objectives. 


Your responsibilities include:



  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of global, regional and affiliate access and epidemiology information needs

  • Maximize the value of Roche Pharma products and enable patient access to Roche products by providing epidemiology forecasting expertise across all stages of the product lifecycle

  • Deliver access and epidemiology insights for the assigned disease/therapeutic area(s), including epidemiology forecasting input into business revenue forecasts, publications and external presentations

  • Make critical scientific contributions and provide guidance in epidemiology methods and data to others to support execution of development, commercial and access strategies 

  • Identify, assess and use high quality epidemiological data sources to generate validated target patient population forecasting models and robust evidence to inform business review of Roche products

  • Lead alignment discussions with business analysts and affiliates and formally sign-off all patient population data

  • Support development and execution of payer and product value strategies, supportive internal documentation, HTA submissions, and payer and reimbursement submissions and negotiations

  • Develop and coordinate the Real World Data Strategy to support HTA related activities, pricing and market access strategies

  • Ensure a high bar for relevance, quality and timeliness of research, data collection, insights and reporting strategies, projects and recurring activities 

  • Work collaboratively and strategically partner across Roche functions, regions and affiliates and externally with key stakeholders


Who you are


Education



  • Graduate or higher-level Degree in epidemiology (e.g. Masters of Public Health or PhD in epidemiology); or Graduate or higher-level Degree (MS or PhD) in quantitative methods, economics, pharmacology or a related discipline with Post-Graduate qualification in epidemiology; or Medical Degree (RN, MD) with Post-Graduate qualification in epidemiology


Experience



  • 8 or more years’ epidemiology or health outcomes experience

  • 2 or more years’ experience in either the pharmaceutical or related industry or within a service provider organization (e.g., contract research organization/CRO)

  • Significant experience designing, conducting, analyzing and interpreting epidemiological studies (includes healthcare/pharmaceutical HTA related experience) is strongly preferred

  • Relevant experience in designing, conducting, and/or analyzing Real World Data (RWD) studies

  • Experience working in a matrix organization with senior executive exposure

  • Experience working in a variety of functions within and beyond Access is preferred

  • Demonstrable experience creating innovative data analysis and insights-generation methodologies; significantly improving strategic insights-generation and knowledge management


Knowledge



  • Strong knowledge of epidemiological principles and methodologies

  • Strong knowledge of national and international health statistics, surveillance data and health surveys in defined disease areas, in particular, their strengths and weaknesses

  • Current knowledge in disease etiology, risk factors, trends in diagnostics and therapy, and changes in disease definitions

  • Knowledge of key access factors and dynamics in the pharmaceutical or related industry, including competition, pricing and payer reimbursement requirements, product marketing, operational pricing, etc. is strongly preferred
