What's the role?


Bring your out-of-the-box thinking and hands-on attitude on board and help us develop conceptual products of the future. Your task will be to ideate, develop and evaluate prototypes of Hilti construction consumables. You will be working in a diverse group of innovative structural, mechatronic, ergonomic and electronic engineers. We are seeking for curios and talented students to help us keep on moving in the right direction.


Start date is flexible to the student's availability, duration between 6 and 12 months.

What does the role involve?


As intern in our department you will be part of an interdisciplinary team working on the future of construction consumables. You’ll work closely with our experts to develop prototypes of mechatronic devices for Hilti applications.


Your key responsibility will be to supporting implementation of IoT and smart features into next generation of construction consumables. You will directly contribute to technology projects by developing functional demonstrators as well as evaluating them in lab experiments. The work will involve lots of hands-on sensor, electronics and code testing and optimization as well as engineering investigation into properties of developed solutions.

What you need is:



  • Final year of Bachelor or Master engineering student: Mechatronic, Robotic, Mechanical, Automation, Electronic or equivalent.

  • First practical experience with sensors and measurement techniques.

  • Basics of microcontrollers, i.e. Arduino.

  • Fundamentals of C/C++.

  • Basic Android programming.

  • Willingness and creativity in finding solutions for interdisciplinary technical challenges.

  • Passion for innovation and product development.

  • A proactive approach and self-reliant personality.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with excellent English skills (German skills advantageous).
