Responsibilities

You will be responsible for: 

• Leading and building ahappy, diverseandhighperformingteam of software engineers. 


• Designing, implementing, and deliveringsoftware and infrastructure solutionsalongside our customers and their software engineer teams.   


• Identifying, influencing and leading (culture, technology or operational) initiatives across your team and broaderorganisation 


• Exercising your existing skills, learning new things, and then sharing your experiences with those around you, the broader Microsoft organization and theopen sourcecommunity. 


• Clearly and effectively communicating your ideas, through words and code. 


• Developing positive relationships with software engineers across Microsoft and with Microsoft product teams. 


• Upholding our delivery standards by following and contributing to our engineering playbook. 

Qualifications

You will have: 

• Experiencefromleading and building a team of software engineers 


• A long track record of working within teams of software engineers,and collaborating with other teams and disciplines to deliver production software that runs at scale 


• Deep and broad experience of designing,buildingandoperationalisingcloudapps,cloudservices andcloudinfrastructurethat runsat scale. 


• Experience and passion tolearn about anddig deeper on relevant tech platforms and software stacks. Examples include Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform,Cloud NativeComputing Foundation(CNCF)projects,Kubernetes,Terraform,Kafka, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, node.js, .NET Core, Python, Java,Go. You may know of things that should be added to this list, and you can explain why to other software engineers. 


• Solid hands-on experience ofsoftware engineering fundamentalssuchas testing, continuous integration, continuous deployment, pull requests and code reviews, source control, work item/issue tracking.  


• A Bachelor orMaster’sdegree in Computer Science or a related discipline or comparable practical professional experience 


• Abilitytotravel occasionally(around 25%).We co-locate withcustomersfora few days or a workingweekat the rightpoints during our projectsandalsoget together with peers regionally or globallya few times per year. Travel is mostly within region (European time zones).
