Solutions Architect WEX Network (m/f)

For our client, a well-known pharmaceutical company located in Basel region, we are looking for an Solutions Architect WEX Network (m/f).

Background

As an IT solution architect of PIIX/ Architecture and Emerging Technologies, you will be working with the WEX Network (Workplace & Employee Experience) in squads (scrums). The main business units to support are technical engineering (IT for buildings design, construction and operation), security/safety and health environment, Logistics, business services (translation, events, travel), facility management and some others like local HR, Procurement or pension funds.

The perfect candidate has a proven Solutions Architect background ideally combined with Business Analyst experience / skills. He/she is used to work in a global matrix organization in an interface position between IT and Business and in translating the Business needs into IT language.

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Designs solutions and supervise the implementation that covers business needs, aligned with enterprise architecture standards and advance the architecture toward the target state.


• Performs the leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks required to ensure that information systems are designed and evolve appropriately.


• Works with our business groups to understand their business processes and information needs and works with other members of our informatics organization to identify and design solution options that support the business needs.


• Prepares and presents project documentation for the architecture review board.


• Documents and maintains the solution as-is IT landscape in the Enterprise Architecture Management Tool.


• Oversees or consults on technical architecture implementation activities, particularly for new and/or shared solutions.


• Collaborates with the broader architecture community to ensure that the solutions align with target architectures and technology roadmaps.


• Stays abreast of emerging technologies and trends and how to apply them to benefit the business.

• Remote: max. 1 day per week (Friday) / prior approval needed

Must Haves

• 5y+ of proven IT solutions design experience.


• 5y+ of experience in working with Business Architecture, Information Architecture, Application and Infrastructure architecture. 


• Experience working as Business Analyst in a similar environment (Interface IT / Business)


• Exhibits excellent soft skills typically required as an Architect (i.e. translating business requirements into IT building blocks, presentation and public speaking, negotiation, challenging the status quo) 


• Exhibits an Agile mindset, i.e. Good enough instead of perfection and Focus on “Reuse before Buy before Make” when providing direction on future solutions.


• Is a good team player in a global environment


• Has strong passion to bring value-adding technology to the business.


• Fluent in English and German language (written and spoken)

Nice to Haves

• TOGAF certification is a plus.


• Hands-on experience in the following areas is a plus: web server, application server, database, cloud hosting, API integration.


• Scrum Master
