Technical Program Manager, Android TV

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Responsibilities


  • Develop a plan and schedule, with well-defined milestones, for multiple Android TV teams that each has external dependencies with differing schedules and coordinate feature development, acting as point person to coordinate a complex matrix of releases.

  • Champion product quality across the team by measuring and improving the quality of releases: define key quality metrics, understand critical user journeys, triage code changes, and interact deeply with users.

  • Represent and champion the team’s goals and deliverables throughout Android, with other Google teams, and throughout the ecosystem of Android partners.

  • Define and execute on processes to improve iteration rate and predictability of feature development for multiple projects within Android TV.

  • Manage the communication of progress/status within the core team and external to the team (customers, partners, etc), escalating issues as necessary.


Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:



  • BA/BS degree Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience in program management, technical program management and/or engineering management.


Preferred qualifications:



  • Experience in Android app development.

  • Android platform development experience.

  • Experience using large scale metrics and data analytics and how to apply that to build better products.
