Tasks

• Apply best-practice data science to implement big data and advanced analytics use-cases in close cooperation with the respective stakeholders


• Develop state-of-the-art machine learning, advanced analytics and big data procedures suitable for our company culture


• Development and coding of use cases (60-80% of the time)


• Ensure state-of-the-art implementation, delivery and maintenance


• Interact with the various stake-holders


• Support adoption of advanced analytics across the business units


• Pro-actively consult on enhancing existing routines and establish a knowledge sharing mindset


• Sparring partner for the business


• Coach the team to reach its goals and to grow the cross-divisional collaboration

Profile

• Degree in data science, computer science, applied mathematics or equivalent education


• Several years of experience in applying advanced analytics to a variety of cases and a proven ability to synthesize complex data; deep understanding of modern machine learning techniques and their mathematical foundations


• Experience in operationalizing advanced analytics use cases to be incorporated in 24/7 business processes


• Self-reliant person who is highly motivated to getting things done and has experience in handling the challenges contained


• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills


• Highly collaborative, capable of listening to and learning from colleagues, challenging thoughtfully and prioritizing impact


• Proficient in Python


• Experience in energy/commodity trading is an advantage


• Fluent in English


• Flexibility and willingness to travel (40%)

A challenging opportunity for an open-minded, passionate and talented Data Scientist, interested to lead a small team of Data Scientists & Engineers and to create impact. The unit is part of the Advanced Analytics Team and implements analytics use cases with the different business lines. You like to cooperate with others and get inspired by delivering robust use cases for 24/7 operation.

You will report to the Head Advanced Analytics, engage with different stakeholders and play a major role in establishing advanced analytics and big data approaches across the business area Trading & Sales.
