We are seeking graduates to work as Editorial Assistants. Applicants should be interested in staying connected with the research community and helping scholars worldwide publish their results.


Job Summary


As a successful candidate, you will receive full training in editorial work, initially as an Editorial Trainee, working closely with Managing Editors and learning how to take submitted research articles from submission to publication. Once you have successfully completed your traineeship you will be appointed as Assistant Editor. No previous editorial experience is required, however a familiarity with the academic editorial process is an advantage.You should share our passion for spreading the newly acquired knowledge of today’s scientific community and feel motivated to contribute to open access publishing.


Responsibilities



  • Execute editorial work for academic research journals, including organizing the review process for manuscripts and overseeing editorial decisions

  • Communicating with authors, editors, and reviewers

  • Collaborating with other members of the editorial team and production team

  • Administration work for our Editorial Manager


Your profile


The following are required:



  • Bachelor’s degree in any scientific field or publishing/media/

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong written and spoken English

  • Ability to multi-task, attention to detail

  • Ability to work under pressure, including meeting deadlines

  • Swiss citizen or holder of a Swiss work permit

  • Willingness to communicate and collaborate internationally


The following are an advantage:



  • MSc or PhD in any field

  • Experience with scholarly publishing

  • Experience in creating presentations and writing
