Corporate Engagement Specialist

Pictet Asset Management’s ESG team leads and co-ordinates the implementation of responsible investment principles throughout the firm. We are looking for a corporate engagement specialist to engage with companies on social and environmental matters, to be based in Geneva or London.

Your role

  • Defining, together with the investment teams, a target list of companies and themes for engagement on ESG-related matters.

  • Identifying the most relevant channels for conducting corporate engagements (e.g. bilateral, collaborative and third-party provider).

  • Coordinating and taking part in bilateral and/or collaborative engagements with companies on specific environmental and social issues, and steering related discussions with investment teams.

  • Helping investment teams to take part in engagements led by our third-party provider, and providing ongoing monitoring of this service.

  • Depending on engagement outcomes, preparing and presenting voting recommendations on specific resolutions.

  • Helping to enhance our firm-wide approach to active ownership, including by issuing policies, procedures and guidelines on corporate engagement.

  • Contributing to internal and external reporting on active ownership activities.

  • Attending relevant conferences, and joining industry associations and working groups.

Your profile

  • At least 10 years’ experience in the financial sector, including at least three years in a similar position.

  • Working knowledge of key environmental and social issues across sectors.

  • Ability to build a constructive dialogue and forge long-term relationships with senior executives, board members and investment professionals.

  • Strong communication skills with an ability to articulate clear and concise recommendations and to build consensus within a diverse group.

  • Project management skills, ability to work under pressure and to interact with various internal and external parties.

  • University degree, preferably in Environmental and/or Social Sciences.

  • Fluent in English and French or German. 

  • Strong computer literacy and excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
