Within Roche Pharma Research & Early Development (pRED) Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Investigative Safety department is a well-established and respected group of 80 people responsible for the conduct of all in vitro work to determine the preclinical ADME and safety of new Roche medicines. We are seeking a highly motivated Master student, dedicated to the development and application of advanced cellular models to drug safety assessment. This Master thesis offers the most talented students the opportunity to gain valuable work experience with us.


Your main accountabilities will be:



  • Assist with development of advanced in vitro microphysiological models of human skeletal muscle for gene therapy applications 


  • Design, analyzation and interpretation of experiments


  • Presentation of results within a multidisciplinary team environment

What do you need in your toolbox?



  • You are an enrolled Master student in a University program with focus on Biology, Biomedicine, Biotechnology, Sciences or comparable


  • Proven practical experience in cell biology


  • Experience with human skeletal muscle cells, viral vectors and hydrogels (synthetic, natural, ECM) will be an advantage


  • Scientific curiosity, initiative, commitment and good organization skills


  • Written and verbal English is mandatory

The preferred start date of the master thesis is ideally March 2020 for 6 to 9 months with the possibility of an extension.
