For our Global Procurement Organization, we are looking for:
CRO Category Manager – Clinical Services
The role is based in the Lausanne region, in Switzerland and is reporting to the Head of Procurement Contract Research Organization.
Activities and responsibilities
Management:
• Lead and coordinate the negotiations between the CROs, the Outsourcing Manager and the project teams
• Organize workshops with key stakeholders and other buyers involved in the project
• Lead the procurement process from Request for Proposal (RFP) to final contract
• Implement best practices and provide innovative solution to ensure a smooth procurement process, considering all opportunities to maximize efficiency, cost reduction and service level
• Measure and communicate KPIs and related actions plan to enhance suppliers performance in term of technology, quality, responsiveness, delivery, cost and ethic
• Promote networking and lead “cross fertilization” programs between the buyers and with other purchasing entities whenever it can result to efficiency and economy of scale
Sourcing strategy and Vendor management:
• Define the strategy for his/her category with the respective stakeholders and get it approved by senior management
• Implement the strategic sourcing process and make recommendations
• Manage the supplier performance and organize business reviews with key suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Establish sustainable and profitable business relationships with a selection of key suppliers enabling the access to innovation, high service level and preferred conditions
• Lead global risk assessment aiming to secure Galderma’s sourcing and activities; is in charge to anticipate and implement related programs.
• Act as fully engaged so that his/her organization reaches the highest compliance and ethic level while continuously developing, with its supplier’s base, a responsible sourcing approach.
• Maintain a broad knowledge on the worldwide CRO supplier market and provide benchmark information to the stakeholders
Cost improvement:
• Lead the negotiations with key suppliers and leveraging global volume
• Have a detailed knowledge of the spend for the CROs category
• Build and propose budget to support Galderma’s financial objectives and drive the performance KPIs.
• Manage the cost drivers of the CROs category and anticipate international markets trends
Expected qualifications
Education/Training:
University degree, business or engineering Master or MBA; double degree scientific and procurement is preferable
Work Experience:
7+ years’ business experience in Clinical trials in Biotech/Pharmaceutical Industry or CRO (Clinical Research Organization)
Experience in managing Clinical Research Organizations and other clinical study vendors
Working knowledge of RFP development, proposal evaluation, and contract management
3+ years’ operational end-to-end procurement experience including Sourcing, Supplier Management and Category Management
