ABB Switzerland Ltd, High Voltage Products, is renowned worldwide as a specialist for power transmission and distribution. The Service unit is responsible for the worldwide after sales support of generator circuit-breaker (GCB) systems and gas insulated switchgears (GIS), including training, installation and commissioning, scheduled maintenance, added value services, troubleshooting, extensions, retrofits and replacements.

As Business Controller for the Local Product Group PGHV Service, you will be part of the management team and support the service growth strategy. You will coordinate planning processes, analyse and report financial performance and propose improvements. You will also enforce BU or country finance directives and instructions.

Your responsibilities

• Act as a business and sparring partner by consulting, supporting and challenging the LPG management team


• Ensure compliance with Group/BU directives and instructions, A&RG, SOX and internal controls


• Take responsibility for the full budgeting process of the LPG (100MCHF), including top line, bottom line, cost centers, CAPEX, R&D, Workforce and sales


• Analyse key financial data and business performance of the different product lines and cost centers compared to budget and forecast. You will be responsible to provide a reliable monthly and quarterly forecast


• Review financial performance of projects, spare parts orders and field service orders, detect early possible deviations and propose countermeasures


• Develop on your own initiative the tools and the KPI's necessary to support better controlling processes and improve business performance


• Support the different functions in managing financial topics, i.e. foreign exchange exposure, receivables management, and revenues recognition and be the contact person to the central country functions like Accounting, Shared Accounting Services, Treasur

Your background

• With a Bachelor or Master Degree in Business Administration or Economics as your basis, you are an expert in finance, controlling and accounting with a good understanding of service business


• Profound experience in a similar position within an international environment


• Proficient user of SAP and Business Warehouse


• German and English, verbal and written


• Team Player with strong communication skills as well as analytical and fact-based thinking
