We are looking for an inspirational leader for our global Systems engineering and project management (so-called "Contracting") department:

 

VP Systems engineering and project management ("Contracting")

 

Your main responsibilities are

Operations strategy

• Define and implement a global strategy to ensure the short, mid and long term competitiveness of our Engineering solutions and the performance of our customer projects

 

Technical, operational and financial management

• Responsible for the projects/systems design, quality, on-time-delivery (OTD) and cost, until full acceptance by customers and hand-over to the Service division


• Define and monitor operational KPIs to understand and drive operational performance


• Ensure that processes and technical standards are robust and adhered to


• Ensure that customer and supplier problems are understood, solved with speed and quality


• Ensure optimal absorption of resources in all contracting hubs globally

 

Performance through cross-functional collaboration

• Keep close contact to all stakeholder to

  2. ensure smooth cooperation between Divisions & Departments, especially:

  • Understand market requirements and foster project team presence at customers
  
  
  • Coordinate project priorities with Sales and Design & Manufacturing
  
  
  • Support R&D developments in solutions and applications. Lead some of them
  
  
  • Support SYST Sales in offer process with technical data and feasibility of implementation for direct customer requests (incl. cost and delivery time)
  
  

 

Competitiveness though continuous improvement

• Drive/support realization of system costs savings and efficiency improvements (value engineering, procurement, Engineering Office in Pune/India, process digitalization)


• Identify and manage continuous improvement initiatives & projects for Contracting


• Spread usage of LEAN knowledge and realization of continuous improvement

 

Special projects and responsibilities

• Directly manage Burckhardt Compression Korea (BCKB) and Italy, on behalf of the SYST management team


• Drive special projects, e.g. acquisitions, operational investments

 

Team management and development

• Build, maintain and manage a high-performing team by providing role clarity, training and career development globally

 

 

You hold a certificate in higher technical education (master's degree in mechanical or process engineering) and have a proven record of at least 10 years in leading global teams (including China and India) and customer projects in an industrial environment. Knowledge of and experience with legal aspects of contracts and plant engineering is a plus.

You are a team player with the ability to establish trust among all stakeholders and show strong motivation and passion for work, pragmatic and result-oriented. You are experienced in problem solving, defining organizational excellence and have the ability to prioritize responsibilities and processes. Your excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are completed with good communication skills in German (at least level B2). You have a passion for customers, possess a flexible and positive attitude and the ability to deal with people of different nationalities. You are willing to travel internationally (~30%).
