The College of Management of Technology (CDM) is the School of EPFL in charge of developing and offering education and research programs in the fields of management, economics and finance. It employs about 18 Professors and more than 120 staff members. CDM connects EPFL with business and society, stimulates entrepreneurship and innovation on campus, and prepares students for leadership positions in business, policy and academia. Internship Coordinator and Communication Specialist (M/W) – 60%
Your mission :
Working closely with the Financial Engineering Master program (MFE) Director, you will provide leadership in the development and implementation of a viable internship program, managing relationships with industry partners, counseling students in the search and application process, and developing and maintaining alumni relations. As a Communication Specialist for CDM, you will be developing, and executing CDM’s communication needs.
Main duties and responsibilities include :
Internship Coordinator:
Manage the MFE internship program, supporting and accompanying students in their search and application for an internship
Serve as a point of contact for industry partners of the MFE program: develop and maintain relationships to create internship and job opportunities for MFE students, organize practitioner's seminars, etc.
Create and improve internship program material (such as evaluation forms and employment surveys)
Organize information sessions for MFE students about internships (rules, processes etc.)
Build an MFE alumni network and maintain alumni relations
Develop and update databases useful for corporate relations of the SFI
Communication Specialist:
Develop and maintain CDM’s communication, websites, media and social network presence
Write popularized versions of research articles or non-technical summaries of conference proceedings for internal or external media
Produce and design content for yearly activity reports
Organize events to promote CDM, SFI and the MFE program internally and externally
Your profile :
Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken, is mandatory. Good working knowledge of German is a plus
Prior experience as placement officer, internship coordinator or in interacting with corporate HR departments
Ability to proactively coach students before and during the internship’s application process
Experience in communication and media relations (online and social media) for a company or an academic institution
Ability to write and edit articles for a general audience in English and French
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a clear ability to work with a wide range of people
Highly motivated, self-driven, organized, and efficient
Previous experience in an academic environment is a strong plus
