Join our International Finance team!



The International HR Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring Pension and Share Based Compensation accounting. This role is accountable for IFRS and statutory financial statements of Alcon legal entity (Group Holding) included in Alcon annual report published in both US & Swiss stock exchange.

You will be accountable for strong reporting and decision support in complex accounting matters affecting Alcon Group accounts such as pensions, shared based compensation.



Your main responsibilities:



• Ensure HR Accounting process designs are consistent with best practices and aligned with the Record-to-Report

• Kick off project to centralize EMEA Pension accounting to one team

• Responsible for the Share Based Compensation accounting for International employees

• Support the month-end financial closing and reporting process

• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including cross-functional business colleagues, both internal and external accounting authorities/auditors, and Consolidations & Reporting/External Financial Reporting teams, to ensure appropriate communication with these stakeholders when questions regarding accounting/reporting matters arise.

• Drive complex accounting issues and topics related to the HR/ Employee Benefits area and partner with the Technical Accounting team to document conclusions

• Proactively communicate variances to Senior Management/ business by detailing key drivers leading to deviations.

• Ensure full compliance to AFCM/SOX 404 requirements driving the Internal Control annual cycle within the Reporting Units for assigned controls (self-assessment, testing, remediation, and certification).

• Strive for Internal Control improvements, drive for automation and simplification of the internal control set-up, while maintaining all the Risks under control in line with ALCON requirements

• Key contact point for external auditors for both Shared Based Compensation and Pension topics

• Manage finance related process changes to achieve best practice by proactively identifying gaps to standards, initiating and formulating change projects with IT and Finance management

• Lead accounting and reporting projects to increase effectiveness and efficiency

Minimum requirements

What we are looking for:



• At least 5 years’ experience in Financial reporting and accounting department

• Excellent understanding and ability with ERP systems, as well as relevant financial sub-systems, familiar with built in controls and information flow

• Strong leadership and management skills - line management, coaching, mentoring & development of team members

• Strong knowledge and practice of IFRS and Swiss GAAP

• Very strong written and oral communication skills.  Experience in large-scale industrial multinational environment

• Process improvement (Six Sigma green or black belt certification)

• Swiss Certified specialist (i.e.Chartered Accountant, CPA) for Finance and Accounting or similar University or Accounting degree with external audit experience in Switzerland
