Job description AC Immune is seeking a highly qualified Research Scientist to expand the
company’s efforts in Antibody Research and Development. The candidate
must possess scientific background in biochemistry, structural biophysics
and protein dynamics and a clear record of accomplishment in an academic
or a commercial setting. He/she must have demonstrated their ability to
make significant discoveries in an academic setting or bring a research
product to the marketplace.


Within the α-Synuclein Biology Research Team of AC Immune’s R&D
department the candidate will bring in expertise and provide hands-on
research support for the discovery and characterization of antibodies against
proteins involved into neurodegenerative conditions.
Key Responsibilities Design and execute studies for measuring biomolecular interactions
using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technology to support drug
discovery and development



  • Plan and oversee and/or execute immunoassays such as ELISA,
    immunostaining and fluorescent microscopy as well as biochemical
    protein analysis such as chromatography, western blotting, and
    immunoprecipitation

  • Data analysis and presentation at internal and external meetings.

  • Support and supervise activities with external vendors and collaborators.
    Write protocols and scientific reports; publish results in scientific peer-
    reviewed journals


Qualifications & Skills Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) with related experience in biochemistry,
immunology, cell biology, neuroscience or related scientific discipline.



  • Post-doctoral experience with proven publication record would be an
    advantage

  • Thorough understanding of the SPR Biacore current instruments and
    analysis software. Expertise in data interpretation and solid theoretical
    understanding of binding kinetics and molecular interactions

  • Experience in protein biochemistry and in vitro assay development

  • Excellent organizational skills, meticulous record keeping and data
    documentation

  • Team spirit paired with rigorous work style, self-motivation, flexibility and
    ability to design and execute scientific experiments autonomously

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is mandatory.
