The Associate Director, HR Compensation and Benefits Solutions has responsibility for design and delivery of HR Solutions and systems in support of Compensation & Benefits processes.  This position manages a small team responsible for working with suppliers, internal IT, and the Compensation and Benefits organizations to manage annual process cycles, enhancements and upgrades to current HR systems enabling these areas. This position works closely with the Compensation and Benefits organization and process leads to identify and recommend alternative solutions, leveraging existing HR tools and technologies. The individual is responsible for collaborating with peers HR solution leads within the organization and accountable for the implementation of agreed upon recommended solutions. The individual must be able to influence across multiple levels of the organization, work with HR operations leaders and internal/external partners to drive change and tangible improvements.



Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:



  • Participates in strategy/process design sessions to consult on solutions (both existing and new) that will best achieve desired strategic outcomes.

  • Responsible for core compensation and advanced compensation configuration and associated business processes and documentation in Workday

  • Accountable for small projects, ongoing enhancements, upgrades, annual compensation processes, and ensuring support issues are resolved.

  • Preparation and execution of the year end Advanced Compensation Cycle

  • Support Tier 3 issue resolution related to compensation and benefits systems

  • Support any merger and acquisition elements from a compensation and benefits systems perspective

  • Assist IT organization in support of integrations supporting compensation and benefits providers

  • Support the development / updates to systems and supporting needed by our global support centers

  • Builds team of required partners to implement defined solution (e.g. IT, System Vendor, Implementation Partner); Supplier Management (if applicable).  

  • Creates/updates required Data Privacy forms for all relevant objects requiring data; work with Data Privacy Office and data steward to obtain Local and Global Data Privacy and works council approvals.

  • Works with process/functional lead and test leads to define test strategy and test plan and ensure execution of user testing.


The Associate Director, Compensation and Benefits Lead operates in a complex and matrix environment and is expected to apply HR functional and operational expertise to drive performance. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished HRIS team lead with experience working globally and established credibility in delivery and enabling strategies within a large and complex organization. The individual will have a track record that demonstrates the following competencies:



  • Ability to quickly assess business needs to identify opportunities where HR/HRIS processes or systems can further the strategy, or streamline processes.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team to direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems and translate HR/HRSS issues clearly and articulately into business terms. Business Analyst capability with proven ability to translate business processes into functional system requirements and solutions

  • Strong communication skills

  • Knowledge of Workday Human Capital Management systems

  • Knowledge of Core and Advanced Compensation Modules in Workday

  • Proven ability to deliver as a team leader on large HR systems implementation programs.

  • Experience managing an operational team

  • Workday experience required
