INTERN – VIDEO/ GRAPHIC DESIGN/ MEDIA
(February – August 2020) The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the International Organization for Public-Private Cooperation. The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. 
Why we are recruiting The Forum’s Video & Design Team works across a wide variety of content. From Impact stories to daily social video content, short-form documentaries, animations, interviews , explainers, institutional and event related films. Here's a taste of what we do: vimeo.com/showcase/weforum. The Design and Interaction team is responsible for ensuring that the spaces, communications and interactions related to flagship events are institutionally aligned, on-brand and optimized for the programme objectives. Our teams are currently hiring
two (2) interns to provide support in the areas mentioned below. All intern candidates must be currently enrolled in a course of study. Applications must be submitted before

(1) Intern – Video & Design, Public Engagement This intern will support video & design production activities, including the content capture of in-house interviews, the execution of ad-hoc design work for digital/print, the coordination of logistics associated to our event and on-location operations, and the general housekeeping of office space, recording studio and equipment inventory.

  • Studio set up, equipment inventory coordination and housekeeping

  • Recordings in-house upon request

  • Research / sourcing material for specific projects

  • Preparation of key documents and communications


The successful candidate will be assessed on:



  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing demands

  • Eagerness to learn and willingness to find solutions to questions

  • Successfully juggling competing priorities


Specific requirements:



  • Currently completing a course of study in a relevant subject

  • Technical knowledge of video production: command of cameras, lenses, lighting, sound and post-production processes

  • Familiar with studio set up and operations

  • Good working knowledge of editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, In Design, and Photoshop. After Effects a plus


(2) Intern – Graphic Design, Design and Interaction


This intern will create one look and feel for all internal Global Programming Group communications, guidelines and templates related to the processes and updates that are shared with the rest of the Forum. This role involves assessing how to simplify the content to ensure clarity and understanding of how the group operates.



  • Work closely with the Design and Interaction team to align on strategy and direction

  • Collaborate with document owners across the Global Programming team to improve their assets

  • Interview users of documents and review user-data to ensure redesign is on-track

  • Provide clear, strong and effective graphic design solutions that are on-brand


The successful candidate will be assessed on:



  • Quality of graphic design

  • Understanding of user experience related to content

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Ability to present concepts and to work closely with stakeholders

  • Ability to iterate and evolve concepts with constructive feedback


Specific requirements:



  • Currently completing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in graphic design or other relevant subject

  • First-hand experience in taking projects from concept to design

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

  • Fluent in design and presentation media (PowerPoint, Keynote, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
