Job Description

lastminute.com is looking for a smart, highly motivated and passionate UX Researcher for its Experience Design Team. We are searching for a person with a solid knowledge of research processes and methodologies, and proven experience in their application across different stages of the design process.

As a member of the Experience Design team, you will work in a collaborative environment, using a mix of design thinking and agile methodologies. You’ll partner with designers, copywriters, developers, business analyst and product owners to improve existing products and bring new ideas to life.

It is a once-in-a-lifetime challenge to discover and change the habits of thousands of people every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • You will be accountable for conducting user research to develop a deep understanding of our users, their behaviours, and their needs.

  • You will analyse research data coming from different sources, find meaning in the data, and communicate compelling insights in a clear and cool way to influence the design and development of our web products.

  • You will be a partner with UX Designers and the Product team to ensure the delivery of the most engaging experiences to our users.

  • You will plan and moderate workshops and collaboration sessions to unveil user requirements, create alignment around product vision, and generate unpredictable solutions.

  • You will translate your research findings in testing hypotheses. You will manage the prioritisation, delivery and analysis of AB tests to drive the improvement of our products.

  • You’ll be comfortable taking a data-led approach to design. You will be a passionate advocate for the user, dedicated to the research and excited about working in an agile, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

Essential

  • 3+ years of experience in applied product research

  • You have a broad experience in different research methodologies, ideally in building digital products, and know when to apply the appropriate methods

  • You can lead the usability testing process from user recruitment to test moderation, analysis and reporting. You are comfortable in the field as in the lab

  • You can organise and lead workshops to facilitate the understanding of user needs and to create alignment among designers, developers and stakeholders

  • You feel excited if asked to look into quantitative data to get insight on our users (we mostly use Google Analytics and Excel). You are able to synthesize quantitative data with qualitative user research

  • You created, published and analysed a good amount of ab tests using vendor or in-house tools (we are pro users of Optimizely)

  • You have a collaborative mindset: you thrive in cross-functional environments and have worked with leadership, product, engineering and marketing

  • You have a positive attitude: you’re a team player and you’re resilient in the face of challenges

  • You will never agree about delivering a new experience if it doesn’t look excellent and user centered

  • You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, mostly when it comes to communicating insights and getting consensus

  • You can speak English fluently and you feel comfortable interviewing users in English. Any additional language is welcome

Desirable

  • You have prior experience with tools for design and prototyping

  • You feel confident with web programming (HTML, CSS, JS)

  • You have used UserTesting or similar remote testing platforms
