The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas. The Global Programming Group is made up of five interdisciplinary teams that create the programme, manage, design and deliver the Forum’s global and regional multi-stakeholder events. Why we are recruiting The Design and Interaction Team is expanding to deliver on the creative conception and strategic design of multiple global and regional Forum events. The successful candidate is a leader and multifaceted designer who has senior experience in spatial design, communication design, planning and managing complex projects, creating briefs and giving creative direction to a diverse team. We are looking for someone who understands complex business challenges and brings a positive attitude towards solving them. Reporting Lines & Interactions This position is based out of the Geneva office with a direct reporting line to the Head of Design and Interaction. This person will have a senior coordination role across the different disciplines within the Design team, the Global Programming Group and with external providers. Breakdown of main responsibilities 40% Overseeing quality and accuracy of design deliverables• Provide clear and concise creative direction to event operation teams, production vendors, and other related colleagues• Lead and participate in internal and external brainstorming sessions to develop innovative ideas for session formats and immersive experiences at events• Create mood boards for communication materials that inspire and drive creative thinking and design• Collaborate with various in-house teams to define and track project KPIs and measures of success.• Work with Head of Design and Head of Programming to explore new opportunities for programming and interaction 30% Coordination and design management• Work closely with in-house and external partners (including creative, design, programming, production and communications) to ensure successful events• Build team and organizational competencies by providing constructive criticism and feedback on work and assignments• Manage creative staff and integrated resources (production / digital / content / etc.) with delegation of duties to balance workload and manage time; assign projects to challenge and grow staff based on experience and potential. 20% Communication across teams• Act as lead on communication products for global events, with an understanding of all marketing and consumer engagement verticals 10% Running training workshops• Deliver in-house trainings on design thinking, best practices for presentations, and designing for interaction between participants at events• Perform other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will be assessed on • Ability to push teams to think outside the box and bring innovative interaction concepts to the table• Create and maintain project and production plans, documentation, timelines, and contractual obligations.• Ability to present concepts and to work closely with clients, applying creative solutions to strategic business problems• Ability to iterate and evolve concepts with constructive feedback Preferred Requirements and Experience• Bachelor or Masters degree in design, communications, or equivalent• 6-8 years of relevant experience in role with multidisciplinary project management• First-hand experience taking projects from concept to design• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English• Strong organizational and management skills• Multi-task and prioritize workload with quick turnarounds• Excellent problem-solving skills• Energetic and collaborative with a great work ethic• Confident presenter fluent in presentation and design media (Powerpoint, Keynote, Photoshop, inDesign, etc)• Certified facilitation skills are an asset • Proven track record in sustainable design is a plus• Flexibility to travelling overseas Why work at the Forum We believe that progress happens by bringing together people from all walks of life who have the drive and the influence to improve the state of the world by building awareness and co-operation, shaping mind-sets and agendas and driving collective action.
