Senior Project Manager CAPEX- temporary until 30.09.2020

The ESS Project manager CAPEX is responsible for achieving the defined result in the assigned project stream “CAPEX” within the project “ES 300+”. He specifies project scope and deliverables based on the topic provided applying continuous improvement and project management principles. He leads the assigned projects, reports regularly on progress internally and prepares the project documentation for the use in the company Investment Committee.

 

Your tasks

 

  • Manage the strategic CAPEX project within Engine Services consisting of 100+ sub-streams

  • Manage medium to complex equipment procurement to meet the cost and timelines

  • Support multiple departments within the business unit with new and the ongoing equipment purchases

  • Apply standard process for requirement specification, RFQ and supplier selection

  • Collaborate with Operations, Lean CI (Continuous Improvement) and Engineering teams to optimize equipment specifications

  • Work with Operations in finding the optimal solution and alternatives to existing equipment

  • Prepare justification and business case calculation in form of a standard presentation

  • Bring new projects towards the Investment Committee on C-level

  • Leads clarifications with suppliers during RFQ process

  • Leads and conducts negotiations with suppliers, finalizes contracts and purchase orders

  • Ensure timely execution and progress throughout the various steps in the equipment procurement process

  • Overlook and manage the utilization of the assigned yearly CAPEX budget

  • Works with Finance to provide constant overview of new assets and pipeline for ongoing procurement

  • Provide support to Finance and Treasury for required reporting

  • Manages a small team, setting targets, managing performance and provide coaching as needed


Your profile

 

  • A minimum of a 5-year degree in the field of Supply Chain, Business or Engineering

  • Track record in procurement of machinery and industrial equipment

  • Strong financial understanding of capital equipment projects in a production environment

  • Team lead experience

  • Experience in Project Management and Lean Six Sigma implementation

  • Fluent in German and English

  • Demonstrated strong communication skills across multiple levels of an organization

  • Technical knowledge and functional understanding of production equipment and tooling

  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma qualification is a plus

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to address multiple projects at various stages
