Location: Zurich, Switzerland


Duration: 12 months, starting February 2020

Position Summary


The finance team is looking for a young and motivated graduate willing to learn and develop in a dynamic and international environment. In his role, the intern will be will be responsible for supporting the Sr Manager, Business Controller in all Finance and related areas. The intern will closely work with the team and contribute to the delivery of finance services to the other Departments.


Principal Responsibilities



  • Support Associate Director FP&A International HQ & Alpine in all related fields

  • Budget, Strategic Plan, Forecasting, Management Reporting

  • System load task in BPC and analysis of the accuracy of the numbers

  • Partnering with shared service centers across Alexion

  • Preparation of monthly closing tasks (accruals; analytical review etc)

  • Preparation of detailed monthly Management reports

  • Support Sr Manager Business Controller partnering with CC owner

  • EMEA consolidation projects for Commercial, G&A and R&D support

  • Partnering for regional package with countries BC (G&A and R&D)

  • Participation to ad-hoc projects


Qualifications & Education



  • Graduation from University or Business school, Bachelor or Master degree

  • Ability to review and analyze business and financial data

  • Understanding and experience in different reporting structures

  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Interpersonal skills with ability to work with others as well as independently

  • Fluent in English both spoken and written is mandatory. All other language is an asset

  • First internship in finance, accounting or reporting is a plus

  • Eligible to work in Switzerland

  • 12 months or less professional experience preffered
