IT Data Architect


Role


The IT Data Architect oversees and ensures consolidated usage and dissemination of data throughout all ISO IT systems. He/she facilitates access to information across applications, providing architecture models and tooling which increases their business value. The activity includes close collaboration with business units within the ISO Central Secretariat as well as with ISO members and external partners. The IT Data Architect will actively contribute to the life-cycle of projects, working with business analysts, developers and operations to ensure high data quality, consistency and integrity within our applications and processes.


Key responsibilities



  • Identify and coordinate data mappings and harmonization among different applications and data sources (including third party solutions)

  • Define policies regarding the collection and dissemination of data in the context of a large international membership organization

  • Addresses legal aspect of data processing, including GDPR and identity management governance

  • Improve quality of data by clarifying and implementing validation rules, monitoring, cleansing, and tooling

  • Provide guidance on data modelling, safety, security, compliance, and retention during system's analysis and design


Report to: Director, Information Technology Services

Qualification and Experience



  • University or post-graduate degree

  • Proven experience in Information Technology: data architecture, design, modelling, and quality assurance

  • Fluent with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL), document databases (Marklogic, Mongo), data formats (XML, JSON)

  • Experience with Business Intelligence/Big Data is a plus


Skills



  • Sound analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset with capacity to describe and document high-level models and flow processes

  • Proficient in SQL and noSQL databases

  • Very good written English & French. All written communication will be in English

  • Hands-on personality unafraid to dig into ISO databases

  • Good communicator, will need to liaise with the rest of the IT teams, business units, as well as ISO's external partners

  • Autonomous, confident, positive, curious, open and inclusive

  • Proactive in looking for continuous improvement

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus
