REPORTING TO: Senior Manager Software System

LOCATION: Berne area (SWITZERLAND) with some flexibility to work remotely and occasional travel

ROLE PURPOSE

Our team is looking for a passionate and creative User Experience (UX) / User Interface (UI) Designer who can solve complex customer problems and design human centred solutions for new and innovative products.

The UX/UI Designer will focus on delivering product innovation through compelling and rich user engagement experience for Glory Global Solutions innovative products. In doing so, the UX/UI designer will work across the entire UX lifecycle including research, strategy, design, visualization and optimization for mobile, web and other applications. From brainstorming to implementation, the UX designer is expected to work cross-functionally with internal teams such as Engineering Development, Product Owners, Brand Marketing, QA and Development teams as well as external stakeholders.

The job owner has a passion for creating a user experience and design strategy that is innovative, simple, elegant, consistent and easy to use, evaluating industry trends in different business areas and brings valuable and exciting innovation.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Conceptualize ideas and then narrow them based on experimentation and customer research as part of an agile team


  • Participate in customer research and map out customer journeys through new business features and understand touch points


  • Gather, refine, and evaluate user requirements in collaboration with Product Owners and engineers/development team


  • Participate in visual problem-solving with Innovation team and Product Owners


  • Visualize, design and conceptualize user experiences - including information design hierarchy, process/screen flows, sitemaps, concept sketches, annotated wireframes, interactive prototypes, high fidelity visual mock-ups and optimized graphics production for a global audience


  • Build storyboards, proof-of-concept mock-ups, demos and prototypes of innovative products


  • Define User Interface design standards for innovative products, to optimize ease-of-use and achieve an integrated and attractive look and feel


  • Design disruptive and intuitive User Interfaces across multiple platforms (web, mobile, and other platforms), navigation tools, customer journeys and design client wireframes


  • Support developers in design implementation (understanding of technical issues and constraints)


  • Support usability tests to solve problems with interfaces and make them not only more user-friendly and intuitive, by predicting how users will utilize each element of the design


  • Keep abreast of new technology, design trends and emerging UX/UI patterns


  • Analyse the competitive landscape of competing products to develop a design strategy and vision that the maximizes business value


  • Support strategy and communication materials to sell, deliver, successfully operate and measure products successful adoption

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education Level:



  • Bachelor's degree in UX design, interaction design, or equivalent professional experience


Qualifications: 



  • 5+ years of extensive experience in User Experience, User Interface, user-centric design development, methodologies and standards


 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES



  • Have a passion for new technology trends and innovation


  • A creative influencer who knows how to create innovative design and build consensus on it


  • An advocate of user-centred design principles


  • Ability to take ownership of complicated efforts and mediate between competing interests and personalities to get alignment and motivate change


  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to communicate with customer on site and between technical and non-technical contributors, project teams and senior leadership


  • Work well in a dynamic, iterative and collaborative environment


  • Highly organised and proactive self-starter who is comfortable to set direction and guidance and self-manage deadlines


  • Experience in delivering Proof of Concepts and Minimum Valuable Products


  • Experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps


  • Experience with icon design and pixel-level design graphic user interface (GUI), screen layout and composition page layout and composition animation


  • Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interactions


  • Ability to design new UI patterns for multiple platforms (web, mobile and other products)


  • Good knowledge of HTML, PHP, CSS languages and a JavaScript framework for creating graphical components


  • Very good interactive prototyping skills, in clickable prototypes with advanced interactivity implementation


  • Expert level graphic design and prototyping tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Axure, Adobe Xd, Sketch, or similar


  • Desired but not mandatory: web and mobile app development (including native languages)


  • Ability to present to large groups


  • Exposure to Agile practices


  • Experience with projects of varying sizes and scopes


  • Excellent English communication skills applied with different stakeholders in all levels of the organization


  • Able to work in a fast-paced and continuous evolving environment


  • Experience in working in a global multi-cultural environment and with virtual teams
