Team Leader Non-Metallics


Kopter Group AG specializes in the development, production, commercialization and support of a new generation of helicopters. It is based in the Zurich region and currently employs 250 people. Its first model, the single turbine SH09, offers the highest standards of safety, comfort and performance, coupled with low operating costs. Additionally, it provides the largest cabin/cargo volumes, outstanding modularity and the latest generation of electronic systems. Built for the most demanding missions, the SH09 helicopter is generating an excellent market response.


Your responsibilities



  • Technical lead for non-metallic material topics and guidance of M&P engineers, students & trainees

  • Holding the responsibility for all related M&P activities within and outside the organisation

  • Holding the responsibility for ensuring compliance with EASA and related regulations

  • Holding the responsibility for managing delegated M&P personnel

  • Identifying all related non-metallic M&P topics in cooperation with engineering (Design, Stress & Fatigue), Production, Purchasing, Quality etc.

  • Identifying and evaluating future materials and processes for Kopter use

  • Providing guidance to M&P-Engineers to ensure correct project planning and execution

  • Monitoring and reporting all ongoing M&P activities and costs versus budget to the Chief Engineer

  • Presenting achieved project results within PDR, CDR and project meetings

  • Validating non-metallic M&P documentation in accordance with process flow

  • Planning and coordinating supplier activities with respect to metallic Material and Processes

  • Validating DO/PO documents and drawings with respect to Material & Processes

  • Managing continuous review and improvement of M&P specifications and document templates

  • To provide or manage technical support to SQA for audits of DO and PO suppliers

  • To provide or manage technical support to Production organisations

  • Acting as deputy in absence of the Chief Engineer


Your qualifications



  • Strong and persistent personality who is able to work independently

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-national team

  • Intercultural competence (effectively works with diverse others/suppliers)

  • Common knowledge about quality management system (QMS)

  • Good leadership skills

  • Good project management skills

  • 5 years of relevant professional experience in aerospace and Non-Metallic M&P

  • Bachelor or Master degree in engineering discipline (Aerospace, Materials or equivalent )

  • Fluent in English
