PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The development team located in Tägerwilen (Lake Constance, CH) works on the future of Retail, delivering the next generation of products for our customers, based on leading-edge technology such as HANA and algorithms from state-of-the-art science. Doing so, we lead the way in the use of new technology and development of innovative applications.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a working student you join the team in their effort to build a standard product as an integrated team member with according participation in regular development tasks.
Joining the team, you will have the opportunity to work in real business software development, explore newest technology, and last but not least collaborate with a team of experts with long-time experience in agile software development
Depending on your technical skills and experience, your tasks may include (but are not limited to):



  • Pairing with developers for unit and integration testing (design and implementation)

  • Provisioning of data and/or demos as part of QA

  • Pairing for code analysis and implementation


To better fit with your ongoing course of studies, the employment is on a part-time basis.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES



  • Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences

  • Preferred fields of study: Computer science, Software Engineering     

  • Required computer skills:

    • Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL


  • Preferred computer skills:

    • Advanced skills in object-oriented SW design and programming

    • SAP HANA

    • ABAP    


  • Other (preferred)

    • Solid background in mathematics (statistics in particular) and optimization algorithms, e.g. Linear Programming

    • Basic knowledge of the retail business     


  • Language skills: English, both written and spoken, and German, mainly spoken     

  • Soft skills: High level of self-organization and feeling of responsibility for his/her own work

Please describe as well your experience and skills in foreign languages and computer programs / programming languages.
