The Role:


 The Data Engineer, CTO Office is responsible for working closely with the data scientists in the CTO team and the business owners in client organizations to develop and optimize datasets and data pipelines for their needs. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple projects. The Data Platforms and Advanced Analytics team within the Office of the CTO of Logitech is a team of software engineers and data scientists focusing on promoting, designing and implementing data-driven approaches and advanced analytics across all business groups and functions at Logitech. The right candidate will be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing the data architecture to support new data initiatives.

  • Create and maintain data pipelines


  • Create and manage large and complex datasets


  • Build the infrastructure and required for extraction, transformation and loading data from a variety of sources using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other cloud platforms


  • Implement rules enforcing security and privacy protection policies


  • Discuss requirements and provide technology advice to business functions


  • Develop data presentation using Tableau and other tools to provide actionable insights to business teams


  • Create data tools for data scientists helping to understand the data, evaluate data quality, and develop state of the art advanced analytics



Key Qualifications:


For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:



  • SQL and advanced working knowledge of relational databases


  • Experience building and optimizing Big Data architectures, datasets and pipelines


  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets 


  • Experience with Big Data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka


  • Experience with AWS cloud services


  • Experience developing and maintaining scripts in Javascript, Java, Scala or Python


  • Good presentation skills


  • Fluent in English



In addition,preferableskills and behaviors include:



  • Experience assessing and anticipating business needs and focusing on delivering business-relevant results


  • Desire to collaborate in a team of researchers,  data scientists and software developers



Education:



  • MsC degree in Computer Science or a related field
