To strengthen the
Information Security research group at the
Institute of applied Information Technology (InIT) in Winterthur, we are seeking a competent person, starting on February 1, 2020 or by mutual arrangement, asSenior Researcher in Information Security in the Field of Computer-based Phishing Awareness Training (80-100%)The position is limited to 2 years for the duration of a project.



The research and development project is concerned with designing and developing novel methods to significantly improve computer-based phishing training with respect to effectiveness, automation and individualization. The project will be conducted in cooperation with an innovative Swiss company that offers computer-based phishing awareness trainings worldwide.



Your responsibilities:

  • Working on and partially leading the R&D project mentioned above

  • Conceptual design, implementation (as prototypes), evaluation and documentation of novel methods in the field of computer-based phishing training

  • Publication of project results in journals and at conferences

For this challenging position, you must have a Master's degree (optionally PhD) in computer science or a related field. You have three or more years of experience and comprehensive knowledge in the field of information security, ideally also in the field of security awareness, and have good programming and software engineering skills. Your way of working is quality-oriented and scientific, and you are highly motivated to design, develop and evaluate innovative ideas in the field of computer-based phishing training.



The Information Security research group is currently focusing on the areas of «Secure Applications and Systems» and «Information Infrastructure Protection». With our currently 3 lecturers and 10 researchers, we usually work on 4-6 R&D projects simultaneously, which are mostly financed by national (primarily Innosuisse) and international (primarily EU FP) funding instruments.



Furthermore, our group is involved in several teaching modules (Bachelor and Master) in the field of IT security and offers a continuing education program in the field of IT security.Do you have any questions about this position?
