A Day in the Life
The Lung Health Disease State Specialist (DSS) is responsible for driving procedural adoption and addressing and overcoming barriers to adoption of new technologies on on the account level in the field of Lung Cancer primarily.
An instrumental part of this role is to build long-term contracts in the department of Surgical Innovations (SI) and the Interventional Lung Solutions (ILS) market in Switzerland. She / He will open up the market which allow to sell and promote the Medtronic Lung Health vision and its related products across a range of hospital and specialist clinical settings. The Disease State Specialist is partnering across the departments SI, ILS and Respiratory & Monitoring Solutions (RMS) - having a horizontal view across the disease state pathway.
For this role, we are looking for a strong collaborator who builts trustfull relationships with the customers and internally works across the matrix. She / He will work closely with the Swiss Market Development SI and collobaorate with the following functions: country Sales & Marketing, Medical Affairs, Governmentals, Communications as well as Commercial Operations.
The position reports directly to Marketing & Market Development Manager SI CHAT.
MAIN JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
· Expand Market, by:
o Identify and develop key accounts in implementing MIS approaches and services
o Drive screening programs reducing complexity of cases
o Leverage cross-functional resources
· Protect and increase market share, by:
o KOL Management and focus on Key accounts
o Effectively manage Thoracic Business Consulting projects within time & budget
o Drive adoption of high-quality Disease state management programs through:
-Conversion to MIS
-Standardizing procedural approaches
-Full product & service portfolio
-ERAS and Fast Track approaches
-Support VBHC partnerships and IHS solutions
· Innovate Therapy by:
o Develop in-depth procedural knowledge
o Help drive adoption of best clinical practices incl. but not limited to:
-Identifying clinical training needs and coordinate appropriate account selection
-Follow-up post-training to ensure procedural adoption
-Coordinate and leverage product specialists for in-service product trainings
-Stay on top of changes in the field of thoracic surgery and other clinical therapies for thoracic cancer
-Local Lung Congress and Society management
-Highlight relevant product/procedural developments to internal training department
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in a business relevant discipline, preferably in Healhcare Business Economics
• Mother tongue German or French, other language business fluent.
• English busienss fluent
• Driving license
JOB EXPERIENCE
· Minimum of 5 years experience in a Sales Management or Market Development in the Medical Devices industry
· Additional (Product) Marketing experience is a plus
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
· Experience in health economics, market and patient access, and interaction with hospital stakeholders and decision makers
· Strong ability to translate customer data into meaningful marketing insight, proficiency in segmentation & targeting and definition of stakeholder specific value propositions
· Solid understanding of disease- and clinical pathways, inpatient and surgical treatment approaches
· Understands the pricing impact on profitability, uses appropriate metrics to measure performance of assigned disease state projects and related procedures (VBHC)
· Proficient in developing account strategies and tailoring the development of new offerings towards the target customers segments
· Strong reporting, project management, analythical skills
· Advanced computer skills – MS Office

Travel Required:
Willingness to travel 40 – 60% of time.
