Purpose


Talent Management COE in EMEA is now focusing on two main areas :


1. Learning and development, and culture initiatives.


2. Talent Management in the sense of succession pool advancement and career development at BD.


This role is focusing on the 2nd area ie : developing our talents and strengthening our succession pools at BD EMEA.


Purpose of the position is therefore:



  • Deploying BD Global Talent Management strategy at EMEA level in close partnership with the TM COE,

  • Defining Talent Management priorities / Designing Talent Management processes / Delivering Talent Management objectives for EMEA collaborating with business leaders and HRBPs.


Main Role and Responsibilities:


1. Deploying and aligning with Global TM Processes :


Plans and manages the execution of the following worldwide Talent Management processes in close partnership with TM COE and the European HRLT:



  • Performance Management

  • Development Planning

  • Talent reviews

  • Accelerator nominations


Deploys in close coordination with the TM COE all the WW TM processes insuring a comprehensive communication for managers and associates within the region on the content, the process requirements and deliverables. This may include technology training.


Ensures up-to-date global process content is available on-line, and supported by the ASC.


Ensures alignment with global process practices.


2. Developing processes & initiatives tailor-made to regional needs in TM:


Develop regional processes that enable the right career moves for our talents to accelerate their readiness for target roles – Works closely with TA 


Know our Top Talents in the Region, understanding their strengths, development needs and readiness for future assignments, and captures/maintains a summary of overall succession pool health available for HR Community and Business Leaders


Provides Talent Management leadership, subject matter expertise, consultative guidance, coaching and support through partnership with regional businesses, regional functions and countries & HR Community in the following areas: Talent Review/Succession Management, Assessments, etc.


i. Continuously educate ELT/Leaders and HR community about critical tools at hand and how/when to do best use of them;


ii. Is the key contact point of Korn Ferry & HR Community with regards to tools like 360, KFLAP, Assessment, high po identification tool, etc. Ensures help and support.


Assess the needs for programs / initiatives to accelerate the development of our talents in the region ie :


1. Career accelerator programs :



  • Assess the needs for accelerator programs in light of talents demographics

  • Identify what specific areas of development should be strengthened in that community

  • Partners with L&D Manager to (re)design programs (DOT/ECE, Career Day…)

  • Select talents to attend accelerator programs, based on Leaders feedback, KFALP reports and succession pool needs in the Region 

  • During programs : observe & assess talents with consideration of future regional needs & succession planning, identify areas of continuous improvement,  readiness to teach alongside or support leaders in the delivery of teaching where required, engage with the talents

  • Set-up post-program action plan and ensures it is implemented by/with leaders, including the assignment and facilitation of accelerator program mentoring relationships

  • Monitor and report on Leadership Accelerator Program session metrics. Examines patterns of promotion and job movement of leadership program participants and collaborates with HRBPs on the outcomes of these analyses.


2. Other career accelerator tools :



  • leverage career pathing and expand as needed,

  • proactively think, create, propose et execute other tools

  • Stay up to date about what is happening outside in the Market, on Talent Management and propose evolution of our BD way of TM to Global and the Region


Drive the analysis of the organization’s talent pipeline through identification, monitoring and reporting of metrics on a routine basis.
Analyze Regional  HiPo performance, potential and “movement” metrics.


Set-up and implement communication strategy to appropriately inform about BD EMEA Talent development (Talent Moves, programs…) to enhance ambition, aspiration, retention of our talents in the Region.


Experience & skills :


1. Solid experience of working independently as an HR generalist or an HR specialist supporting bigger client groups.


2. Working and collaborating within the matrix and within HR Operating Model.  


3. Has demonstrated project management experience, change management is a plus.

    Ability to coach leaders and managers on engaging, developing and retaining top talent and on deploying the full range of BD development, reward and recognition solutions. Courage to make and advocate difficult decisions.

Has also developed the right proficiency of the remainder of HR competencies : HR Integrator, Business Acumen, Organization Development, HR Analytics
