Customer Quality Engineer

Job tasks, authority:


 



  • Serve as one of the prime Quality interfaces for customer related issues, including customer interactions, investigations and escalations

  • Create, implement, and monitor improvement of key performance indicators and metrics from strategic supplier scorecards  and customer feedback

  • Create cross-functional teams to develop and maintain new processes and procedures where necessary to drive improvements

  • Incorporate engineering specifications into design, process, or techniques and provide feedback to capture lessons learned.

  • Ensure solutions/corrective actions achieve required quality levels, reliability, and consistency.

  • Work with Comet, suppliers and third party contractors to determine root cause and corrective actions and document findings and provide feedback

  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished- product and/or process capabilities and establishing standards within the company

  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

  • Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs; entering data.

  • Work with the NPI team to ensure product quality throughout the product development process

  • Outstanding PC skills, especially dealing with large amounts of data, databases and reporting

  • Solid understanding of Statistical Process Control and Out of Control Action planning

  • Strong understanding of PCB/PCBA layout, design manufacture

  • Excels in a small company environment

  • Able to speak and write English fluently and good technical communication skills.


 


Work Experience:


 



  • 5-10 years of experience in Quality and a Manufacturing environment

  • Extensive experience with PCB/PCBAs

  • Experience with data and extraction of information to drive Quality improvements

  • SAP experience is a plus

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds to shoulder height
